Music Production Lessons
Hello! I’m Bob Varo — professional music producer, guitarist, and founder of VARO Studio Amsterdam, centrally located on Spuistraat in the heart of the city. With nearly two decades of experience in music and a professional background from the renowned Abbey Road Institute, I help both aspiring and experienced producers bring their ideas to life with confidence and creativity.
My production work spans a wide range of projects — from working with international artists and labels like Sigala, Disturbed, Warner Chappell Music, and RHEA, to composing, recording, and mixing for television and award shows such as the California On Location Awards. This hands-on experience, combined with formal training and a passion for teaching, allows me to guide you in a personal and effective way as you grow as a music producer.

My music production lessons are fully tailored to your level, style, and ambitions. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your sound, we’ll work together to develop a strong creative and technical foundation. This includes arrangement, sound design, recording, mixing, mastering, and finding your unique voice as a producer.
You’ll learn how to translate musical ideas into polished, professional tracks. We’ll explore workflow techniques, DAW navigation, plugin use, session organization, and creative decision-making — so you can work faster, sound better, and produce with intention.
Lessons take place online in live sessions via Zoom — an interactive format where you share your screen and DAW, allowing for real-time feedback and practical guidance that applies directly to your own music.
If you’re also interested in developing your guitar skills, I offer in-person guitar lessons at my professionally equipped studio in Amsterdam Centrum — a calm, creative space for hands-on learning.
