Hello! I’m Bob Varo — professional guitarist, music producer, and founder of VARO Studio Amsterdam, centrally located on Spuistraat in the heart of the city. With nearly ten years of experience teaching guitar and a background from the renowned Abbey Road Institute, I help beginners and advanced players alike achieve their musical goals.

 

My musical career has taken me to festivals, clubs, national television, and stages across the Netherlands and beyond. This real-world experience, combined with my professional training and passion for teaching, allows me to guide you in a personal and effective way as you grow as a musician.

My guitar lessons are fully tailored to your level, style, and ambitions. Whether you’re learning your first chord, refining your technique, or exploring creative playing, we’ll work together on building a solid foundation as well as developing your own unique sound. This includes technique, posture, tone, and rhythm — but also improvisation, ear training, music theory, and expression.

 

You’ll learn how to read chord charts, write melodies, analyze songs, and even compose your own music. Whether you prefer acoustic or electric guitar, and whether your taste is pop, rock, blues, classical, or alternative — everything is possible as long as it inspires you.

 

Lessons take place in my professionally equipped studio in Amsterdam Centrum — a calm, creative space where you can freely experiment and grow as a player.
